U.S. regulators approve AT&T's bid for Centennial
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission on Thursday gave final approval to AT&T Inc's $944 million bid to buy Centennial Communications Corp. The widely expected move comes three weeks after the U.S. Justice Department approved the deal on the condition that AT&T, the No. 2 U.S. wireless provider, divest Centennial operations in parts of Louisiana and Mississippi. The FCC granted the approval under the same conditions.

Judge to rule on status of AT&T suit (NOTE: Not related to Cash Balance Lawsuit)
U.S. District Court Judge Janet Hall is expected to decide in the next several weeks whether to grant class action status to a June 2007 lawsuit that alleges AT&T violated state and federal wage and hour provisions. Hall heard arguments Friday by attorneys representing five current and former AT&T employees who claim the Texas company, which has its Connecticut headquarters in New Haven, gave them manager titles in order to avoid having to pay them overtime.
